First Thursday is here!
Book Arts Collaborative and Tribune Showprint are proud to showcase an artist during the First Thurday event. This is an opportunity to shop the artist’s incredible inventory and observe them creating their work!
Our featured artist this December is Mary Miller, a local artist who specializes in hand-carved printing. She learned linoleum carving from Bob Harley from South Side High School, and from there took classes at both Ball State and Anderson Universities. Mary most often carves her work into pieces of soft wood and prints them using spoons.
Mary has a dedication to her craft, and a passion for others. For years, she has made cards for nursing home residents in the area. This year, Book Arts Collaborative is happy to partner with Mary by offering printing workshops in nursing homes this holiday season.
Stop by and see a collection of her work! You can also purchase Book Arts Collaborative’s hand-made journals, coasters, cards, tshirts, and more during this event. Tribune Showprint will be offering an array of posters, bookmarks, stationary sets and cards as well.
Stop by for shop tours and a hands-on printing experience during First Thursday!
