Kids' Workshop! Seven Samurais: Japanese stab binding workshop for kids ages 10-15 years old. Interest is necessary but previous experience is not. Kids sew their own stab bound sketch books, and get a lesson about the history of book making in Asia in the process. Participants will use blunt binder’s needles and waxed linen thread. Covers and pages will be pre-drilled to keep tool use to a minimum.
The Book Arts Collaborative is a physical space where students and community members can learn book arts skills. We host community workshops on an on-going basis. Our makerspace is located in the Madjax building in downtown Muncie across from Cornerstone Center for the Arts.
